Summer Birthday [Cape Cod Lifestyle Family Photographer]

Several months ago Kathleen contacted me to schedule a family photo session.  Her home is in Ohio, but she has summered on the Cape for as long as she could remember, and this is where she wanted to celebrate her birthday.  We needed to adjust the day and time several times to accommodate family arrival times and weather forecasts,  but finally settled on early Saturday morning.  

Such a perfect choice as we had the beach to ourselves before the heat and the crowds transcended.  This was a new location for me, and clearly a familiar and significant one for Kathleen.  As a child it was a short walk to her grandparents cottage where she had taken her first steps.   

The nearby pond and bridge was a favorite fishing hole and popular today with some young families. 

As Kathleen spoke of her family history I had a deeper sense of why roots grow so deep here.  And I loved her story.  

 As the session progressed it wasn’t hard to see there was a special bond between mother and daughter, sisters, spouses, and generations. 

                           Logan could not be any cuter; every shot was a winner with him! 

Capturing these moments was part of a birthday celebration, but Scott and I felt as if we received a gift, too, spending time with this wonderful family.
