I took a fabulous photo workshop from Bryan Peterson this weekend in Hyannis. I took one of his suggestions and changed to a fixed lens (1.8, 85mm) rather than my favorite telephoto lens. I worked on "focusing with my feet," and walked around my subject to capture an image rather than simply adjusting the lens. This display appeared in my viewfinder and I had to laugh. Whispers are easy to miss sometimes...

Mia was determined that she had first dibs on Scott's lap after a Saturday of negligence due to chores. So she simply pushed her way under the Sunday paper and settled in. She knew she was set for awhile when she saw he was reading the sport section. Such a smart kitty!

Crocuses have always reminded me of my childhood. I remember the excitement of the first blooms popping up through the cool earth, knowing that it was only the beginning of what was to come in our garden. These bulbs were a happy surprise as I had forgotten where I planted them in the fall. It looks like our little bunny discovered them before me - a little leaf nibbling for breakfast!
