Whenever I See Your Smiling Face

I have the most amazing parents - not only are they crazy about each other but they truly enjoy each other. Today my dad had an emergency quintuple bypass (I never knew it went higher than quadruple!) and prior to surgery he told me he wanted a new photo of he and my mom this summer. I told him it was a deal - he could pick the spot. He came through okay, by the way, but of course it got me looking through my collection of photos. I had fun with this one in Photoshop.

True Blue

The light quality in late afternoon is one of my favorites in the winter. The shadows of the deck railing on the snow on the deck are so crisp - and so fleeting. I ran upstairs and opened the window to capture the stripes and a few clicks later it was gone. Ah, the thrill of the chase - and the cool blue of the evening air.

Stage Lighting

The air is so clear today that the icicle lights seem to create a spotlight in our gazebo. Hmm, maybe there will be footprints tomorrow??

Yesterday was quite the storm - the 5 inches that was predicted became about 18 as two storms merged. So we enjoyed a snow day! This morning the landscape was so pristine that I knew I needed to keep my camera closeby. The sun was barely up as I passed the horse farm and I parked across the street to capture this shot. I loved the contrast of the white snow and fence against the dark trees.
