Little Details

Yesterday I discovered the Art Museum at Heritage Plantation, a small exhibition space with a few noteworthy pieces.  This scrimshaw was the most intricate that I ever seen.  I just kept trying to imagine drawing something with this much detail, never mind on a slippery, rounded surface like a whale's tooth.  Who thinks of things like that??  That's the reflection of the back of the tooth that you see behind it.  Wow.
